My friend Rufus, you were a huge part of my life as you came to me in my 20s when I was single. For almost 19 years, you gave all of the most beautiful love and friendship one can have with a pet. You lived through single life, parties, job , moving, new roommates, new friends, meeting My Husband, tons of other animals, Max, getting married, meeting my step-daughters, Taya and Macyn, moving again, renovations, Kailyn and Lynden, the death of my mom and cherished people around me, the death of your buddy Max. You were such a support to the whole family. When hard things would happen you were the one a huge part of our family would go to for love. We will miss you forever. Give Max a hug when you see him. It is with a heavy heart that I share the loss of our beloved dog, Makita, who was with us for 9 wonderful years. Makita had a slight limit for the past 8 months which turned out to be bone Cancer. We found out before Christmas and gave Makita an extra special Christmas knowing that would be her last. Words can’t capture the depth of love and joy she brought into our lives. From the playful wag of the tail to the quiet moments of companionship, every day was made brighter by her presence. Makita was more than a pet — She was family.
Saying goodbye is never easy, but we will always cherish the memories, the unconditional love, and the paw prints left on our heart. Thank you, Makita, for being the best friend we could ever ask for. You will forever be missed and loved. 💔🐾 #RIP Makita #ForeverInOurHeart

I can’t believe our time together is already over. From the first time I met you, I knew how truly special you were.
From the very beginning and every year after, you were always dignified, classy, highly intelligent and an absolute sweetheart.
It’s not the same here anymore without you.
