Pet Memorials
In Loving Memory
Honouring and remembering the pets we have helped transition across the rainbow bridge.
Please send us an email if you would like to honour your pet’s memory.
Xena
Xena was an eccentric, sassy, food-obsessed sweetheart. Xena was our in-house canine comedian, our best friend & greatest teacher.
Stella
Stella was always there… our constant. So patient, wise and so loving. In the background, always there. I wanted to say. She wasn’t a lap cat. Ever…. Except when our dog Ryder passed. Stella laid on our Laps, for me and Ty, helping us grieve. Never offered again but truly helped us with our loss, our sweet baby girl. She did this for quite a few days. Bless her. We gave her all the one on one love and time we could. She made it to 20.
Too many special moments to share here … we miss her every day.
Always in our heart ❤️
Layla
We rescued Layla from a no-kill shelter where she had lived for two years. Due to health issues and being a Pit Bull she was overlooked time and again. We brought her home and soon learned that she loved zoomies around the backyard.
She rolled on her back in the grass, soaked up the sun, and dug in the dirt.
She covered my husband’s bald head with kisses.
She would give us the stink eye if we stayed in bed too long.
She loved to go for a walk, until she didn’t want to walk any further, usually as far from the house as possible because she was a goofy girl who liked it when she got a ride home.
She was sweet and gentle.
She will always be loved and greatly missed.
Ginny
Ginny was beyond loyal to her people and her furry siblings. She lived life with spunky energy, loving every walk in the forest, hike on the mountain, swim in the lake or ocean, and roll-about in the beach sand. Every day was special with Ginny, regardless of what was on the schedule. When she heard us wake up, she would jump into the bed for morning cuddles, then excitedly roll around in the blankets when we got up.
She taught us many valuable lessons about love, loyalty, and living every day to the fullest. If she had a motto, it would be:
“Every day with you is the best day of my life.”
Tiny
To know Tiny was to love him – he captured the hearts of every person he met. There was nothing Tiny enjoyed more than cuddles (except maybe sneaking licks of butter), and he would often interrupt my work with his classic “meow-meoooow?” to signal it was time for our lunchtime nap.
Despite his small stature, Tiny had a massive presence. He never hesitated to announce himself when entering a room or demand the pets he knew he deserved.
My sweet Tiny boy; I will love you forever. I will miss you for always.
Brody
Brody was the most gentle, sweet, and special boy. He was such a big part of our family, and filled everyday with unconditional love and cuddles. He was a typical chocolate lab, crazy obsessed with chuck it balls, ocean swims, and food. Meal time was his favourite part of everyday, and whenever he was finished with his dinner he would lay on his favourite part of the couch and snooze the evening away. He loved his favourite beach in Cadboro Bay and saying hi to all the other dogs and people. He was loyal and just loved being with his people. He had the most beautiful blocky head, and big bear feet! Such a handsome fella! He’s left a huge hole in our hearts, and his feline brother and all of us miss him so incredibly much!
Mia
Saying goodbye to my beautiful Mia has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. She was my heart cat — the one who truly chose me.
When she came into my life at 13, she was overweight, anxious, and wounded, with patches of fur pulled out and sores from constant licking. She was shy and unsure. With time, patience, and care, she healed — and in the gentlest way, she made her way entirely into my heart.
Mia lived to 20, and every year with her was a gift. She was loyal, soft-spirited, and quietly strong. She trusted me completely and made our home feel whole.
She had her rituals: curling up on fresh laundry the moment it came out of the dryer, claiming the back of the couch as her royal perch, and her unmistakable 5 a.m. meow — not for food, but to demand that I turn on the bathtub tap, her preferred water source.
For a shy kitty, her trust was extraordinary. She let me clip her nails. When kidney disease caught up to her, she accepted subcutaneous fluids calmly and without fuss. She trusted me to care for her right until the very end — and I would have done anything for her.
My heart still aches, but I’m finally able to share just how lucky I was to have known and loved her.
Rest well, sweet girl. Thank you for choosing me. 💔🐾
Toby
On March 1, 2025 I said goodbye to one of the kindest, gentlest souls and best companion who loved life to the fullest.
Toby, you are surely missed.
This little guy came into my life September 10, 2011 when I adopted him from the SPCA who rescued him from a puppy mill/hoarder. His estimated age was 4 years old at rescue. I can’t imagine what those first 4 years were like but the rest of his life was filled with comfort, joy, love and compassion.
Toby showed me unequivocal love, happiness and became my best friend for 13.5 years. Toby brought love to light.
So long, old buddy and best friend. I will miss our daily walks.
You were a fighter right to the end and you will be loved and missed forever.
Pawprints Left By You
Life seems quiet without you,
You were far more than a pet.
You were a family member, a friend,
A loving soul I’ll never forget.
It will take time to heal,
For the silence to go away.
I still listen for you,
And miss you every day.
You were such a great companion,
Constant, loyal and true.
My heart will always wear,
The paw prints left by you.
A special thank you to Dr. Vanessa, Sydney, Ashley, Wendy & Heather at ‘Resting Paws In-Home Veterinary Hospice Services’. Forever grateful for the compassion and care provided to Toby and his family.
Baz
October 2012 – December 12, 2025
Baz came into our lives late, after living 10 years with other families. She immediately
became the center of our world. She loved to snuggle, tear her toys to shreds, and find
silly places to hide. She also loved to bug us when we were trying to work, by climbing
across our keyboards and making lots of noise when we were on the phone.
Her warmth made our house into a home and although we only got three wonderful
years with her, it feels like we had her for a lifetime. For that, we are forever grateful.
Our house will never be the same without her. We will miss you forever, Bazzy booboo.
