Pet Memorials

In Loving Memory

Honouring and remembering the pets we have helped transition across the rainbow bridge.
Please send us an email if you would like to honour your pet’s memory.

Shyla-Mae

Shyla was friendly, outgoing and always happy.
She was quiet, most times, except when meeting new people.
She purred when you cuddled and pet her.
Shyla was the best companion we could have wished for. Tiniest being, with the biggest heart.
Missed greatly.

Duke

On February 27, 2026 the world lost a precious soul.  I lost my best friend and most loyal companion.

Duke came into my life unexpectedly.  My roommate had a Pembroke corgi puppy that we named Duchess.  Logic only said that we had to have a Duke as well.

He was chosen from a picture on the breeders website, and my life was never the same again.  I would not change even a moment of the time this world chose to give us.

He was quiet and shy but loyal to the bone.  He was distrustful of “people” strangers but loved to meet most dogs. He was a disciplinarian and was often put with puppies in the daycare to teach them manners.

He was a my light and will be missed every day and forever

Kobe

Kobe  2011 – 2026 Our beloved Kobe loved to go camping with us & explore hiking trails. He also loved the beach smells and playing near the water but not in it! He was a character with a mind of his own. His favourite game was running away from us however looking behind to make sure we were chasing him! Kobe had an upscale taste in food. His favourite meal was a ham & cheese crepe which he ate on special occasions. Most of all he loved his human family fiercely including Mom, Dad, sister, brother, Uncles & his cousin. His favourite holiday was Christmas time & playing in snow. He would frequently raid all the presents under the tree thinking they were all for him!
He also had a weird habit of rubbing ever so gently on plants which we referred to as his plant massages!
We will miss our little guy & reminisce of all the fun times we had together.

Gimli

Our beautiful boy, Gimli, has passed over the Rainbow Bridge to be with the others who have gone before. May he rest in peace. With much love – Mom, Uncle Tony and Lego

Cassidy

I got Cassidy just after she had weaned 5 kittens. She had her tummy shaved for spaying so her nipples were a wobbly sight. Didn’t bother her and she was soon her gorgeous svelte self.

One of the things that fascinated me about Cassidy was her sleeping arrangements. She just sniffed at an expensive bed shaped like an owl and looked very chic. Eventually Cassidy slept on five large brown paper bags around the suite, on a cushion in the bedroom closet, on top of the paper shredder in the hall closet, on cushions stored in the corner of that closet, on a towel spread on top of her litter box, under the bed spread and in two actual cat beds.

Cassidy loved the two women who came to cut her claws. She came to meet them when they arrived and stayed to give them leg rubs and to be petted after her claws were clipped. Not all their “clients” did that. She wasn’t so friendly with everyone however especially if she had just awakened.

Cassidy wasn’t a huggy cat but she loved to sit on my knee while I read. She accompanied me to the bathroom often and got lots of petting. Strange but comforting.

I miss Cassidy terribly.

Snoopy

Snoopy was pure joy — the gentlest heart, the friendliest soul, and the happiest wagging tail. Always in our hearts

Albert

On January 17th, 2026, I lost my little dog Albert — my greatest and truest friend, a sweet boy who gave me 16.5 years of unconditional love. I held him in my arms as he took his last breath, and in that moment my heart broke in ways I never imagined. From the very beginning, he never left my side. He followed me everywhere, waited for me each day to come home, and slept snuggled beside me every night.

Life feels so different without him. The house is quieter, the days feel heavier, and there’s an emptiness that can’t be filled. When you love this deeply, you sign up for both the greatest joy and the deepest heartache — and even knowing that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. I still can’t believe he’s gone.

Albert’s love was constant, pure, and unconditional. He was my heart and soul, my protector, and my comfort. Through every trial, every tear, and every moment of hurt, he was always there for me, defending me and loving me without question.

I miss him more than words can express. The pain runs deep, but I know his love will stay with me forever.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.”

I will always love you, Albert. You will forever be a part of me.

Nala

Forever loved, forever missed, forever in our hearts.

Lucy

Lu. Our Queen. Sacred baby angel made of marshmallow sweet cream, caramel, and licorice. To say we miss you is an understatement.

It seems impossible to have to go on without getting to sniff your fragrant fur, hear your beloved squawks, or getting to just watch you going about your day with such certainty in your choices and desires.

Your Mom is beyond grateful to have been blessed with growing up alongside you for the past 17 years, and even though it wasn’t long enough, your Dunky will cherish the 5 years of snuggles and love bites you gifted him. You’re in a league of your own, Babe, and we are lucky to have had the privilege of witnessing your glory.

Your stinky little brother has big shoes to fill, but he’s up for the challenge of keeping all the sun rays soaked up, the noosh dishes licked clean, the zoomie soundtrack playing, and the yard/front porch monitored.

Love you like crazy. Mom’s dreams aren’t nearly as sweet without her little spoon. Looking forward to seeing you the day the great mystery reveals itself and we meet again.

Marlowe

To say Marlowe lived a full life is an understatement. He was a stray in Santa Barbara until Raincoast Dog Rescue brought him to Victoria, where he and Darren found each other,  and lived the bachelor life. When Brynn came along Marlowe thrived on the adventure of exploring the West Coast, and being the best couch cuddle buddy a girl could ask for. His world changed again when the family welcomed a baby, and Marlowe, well into his old age, rose to the challenge and became an amazing family dog. He showed incredible patience and affection for his new little human, and they became best friends.

Marlowe was sweet and goofy, energetic with an immense enthusiasm for life. He was as happy climbing a mountain as he was cuddling on the couch. He loved his people deeply, and in his passing we lost a best friend and core member of the family we have built for the last 13 years. He taught us all lessons of how to love and care for one another, and we will carry them with us always. We feel so much gratitude for Resting Paws for allowing us to send Marlowe on his next journey without pain, and with such care, love and dignity.

Goodbye Marlowe, our sweet boy, until we meet again. We will miss you forever and love you always.
