Zeki was a husky cross with an unmistakable arrow marking on her snout and a spirit that never seemed to age. She loved her walks and lived for her Saturday hikes in the Sooke Hills, where she’d spend hours on the trails, happily proving herself to be quite the accomplished hiker. She was an excellent travel buddy, always ready to go, always up for the next adventure. Above all, she was our beloved family member.
She was goofy and endlessly loving—stepping on your toe without apology or leaning her whole body into you just to make sure you felt how much she cared. Zeki adored visiting the neighbours for treats and extra pets, and she was truly loved by everyone who met her.
No one ever believed us when we shared her age. She was beautiful, joyful, and full of personality. She could be loud when dinner was late, or if in need of a cookie and in her senior years she became delightfully dramatic—especially if you dared try to help her over a fallen tree on the trail.
We’ll miss watching her bounce through long grass and run freely through the woods, completely carefree and in her element. We’ll miss her deeply. Zeki was incredibly special, and she always will be.
