Kona was a once in a lifetime kind of dog. She filled our lives with love, mischief and laughter. Her happy personality coupled with her absolute lack of grace and decorum made for a lively life with Kona.
Anyone who met Kona, remembered Kona. She loved people the most. She made fearful children and indifferent adults into dog people, well Kona’s people at least.
She never met a beach she didn’t enjoy, loved watermelon and popcorn, had a signature tuck and roll move, ate fallen pears and wasps with enthusiasm and an iron stomach as her favourite summer time activity bore no side-effects on her. She had a certain “joie de vivre” that we will never forget.
When it was time to make the hardest decision, we were so lucky to have Dr Vanessa and Kristin with us in the backyard to send off our girl with grace and dignity. The house is so quiet without her and she will be missed everyday.
