Nugget

Nugget came to Dr. Vanessa 17 years ago as an orphaned kitten who required bottle feedings around the clock. She grew into the purrfect companion who filled our lives with so much joy and warmth 😻She was the queen of drooling while purring, a sunbathing beauty with an odd, but adorable, obsession with bananas 🍌 She will be missed dearly 💔

Rest in peace sweet Nugget. You have surely left paw prints on the hearts of so many 🐾

Begley

This guy came into our lives on December 29, 2010…we had him for almost exactly 13 years.  We will miss him so much.  He was the best companion and fur brother to our daughter.  He was a great walking partner to his dad.  He was the best coworker for myself…he was by my side all day everyday for 13 years.  He was the best photoshoot dog despite being all black and hard to light..he willingly wore costumes and always knew the exact spot to sit for the ‘dog’ in any family photo.  He was a 70lb lap dog but always asked to get on the couch before jumping up.  He survived cancer twice and gave us 13 amazing years.  We are missing him so much already.  We have so many wonderful memories.  We are so grateful that he was able to be at home with us for his final moments. Thank you Dr. Vanessa.

Mystic

In loving memory of our sweet and special, Mystic, who brought so much joy and love to our lives. She passed peacefully while laying on my lap (her favourite place to be). I’m so grateful that I had 18 years with her sassy little attitude. Rest peacefully my sweet Mystic.

– Allison

Dakota

Dakota was with us for 18 wonderful years. We will miss her craziness, her talking and her cuddles.
She was very vocal and had the zoomies at night to make sure we were awake. She wouldn’t miss one occasion to watch us from her cat tree. Now we know she will keep watching over us from where she is.

Sadie

Our beautiful Sadie was a constant and loyal companion to all of us and we loved her so very much. We will miss her every day and cherish the beautiful memories that we shared together.

Kea

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved dog, Kea (April 21, 2010 – December 31, 2024).

Kea was a comical source of joy and love from the very first moment we met her. As a puppy, she was the obedience class clown, always entertaining and getting into mischief. As she grew, she somehow became sweeter and sweeter every day. When we thought there was no way she could get any sweeter, she somehow could, and she did.

Kea had a passion for adventure and a playful energy. She loved swimming, fetching sticks from the water, jumping off docks, and would race to the top of any mountain we hiked wondering what was taking her parents so long to catch up.

Kea made friends wherever she went. She particularly won the hearts of a few special neighbours. One of Kea’s most treasured activities was trick-or-treating (multiple times per day) at our neighbors’ gates.

Her exuberant spirit filled our home with laughter and love, and we miss her dearly.

Pandora

Pandora loved swimming, treats, sun bathing and cuddling. She was a very special dog, we had the honour growing old with her. She is and will be missed deeply.

Molly

Sweet Molly, Forever loved and never forgotten.

Molly

“Our darling girl Molly passed away peacefully just shy of her 14th birthday, surrounded by her loved ones with the breeze in her face and the grass under her paws on our family farm. Molly was our “foster fail” who came into our lives when she was about a year old, and from the moment she arrived we knew she was never leaving. Molly was beloved by her family, as well as many who had never met her, but knew her through her Instagram @hyperintelligentmolly. Molly did numerous modelling contacts over the years, and her face can be found in print catalogues and on the sides of pet stores. Molly loved hiking and camping, taking flying leaps into the water, road trips, rolling in the snow and grass, Easter egg hunts, chasing the side-by-side on the farm, crunchy treats, and cuddles in bed in the morning. Molly summited mountains, flew in a plane, participated in multi day backpacking trips, canoeing, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, dock diving and even tried her paw at sheep herding. She was passionate about howling along to Lorde and growling at Kung fu movies. Molly is deeply missed by her mom & dad, grandpawrents & best dog friend Remy. We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful soul in our lives. “

Kastro

He was the sweetest little man out there. Definitely a bit of a hand whore when it came to the pets and he loved to climb people. He had such a distinct, lovable personality. He will be missed
❤️

Charlotte

My Sweet Charlotte, left us earthside on December 19 2024.

For the nine wonderful years I had with her, she brought unquantifiable joy, and unconditional love into my life.

She was the perfect example of a classic cat, Independent but loving, proper yet playful, respectful yet curious. Never one to be picked up she would contently sit by your side, leaning against you, sharing her warmth.

She ventured home with me to the Yukon through my years at university, lounged in her favourite corner at my parents house in the sun in Victoria, and loved sitting at the window in my Condo, watching the goings on beyond the glass. These places will never feel quite the same without her quiet presence, or her polite meow letting us know her food bowl might be empty. She had the softest fur, and if you were lucky, she would lean on your outstretched arm, nestling herself into you and providing rare kisses on your hand. In the weeks before she died, she must have known her time was coming to an end, as she slept like this with me for many days straight. I’m grateful for the memory of this, now that she has moved on.

She will be greatly missed by many people, including her cat sister Luna, who Charlotte tolerated with the utmost of patience.

Oscar

Oscar was such a lovely dog who was loved so much by all of us and we really miss our family member.

Lily

We were so lucky to have Lily in our lives for the past 11 and a half years and anyone who knows us knows what an irreplaceable part of our family she was. She wasn’t just a dog; she was a constant source of love and joy who touched our lives in ways we never thought possible. Everyone who met her instantly fell for her soft, sensitive soul.

From the moment we brought her home, she fit into our family perfectly, as though she was always meant to be with us. She had a calm, easygoing nature and was happy doing anything, as long as she was by our side—whether it was a walk, a hike, watching TV, or just napping. She always went with the flow.

Lily was incredibly smart, too. In her later years, she decided that carrying groceries was her special job, and she even made it onto CTV Vancouver Island News for her talents.  She was truly one of a kind.

She had the best life and was loved beyond measure. Her absence will be felt deeply in so many little ways, like looking up to see her in the kitchen hoping for a treat, finding her at our feet while watching tv, or being greeted at the door by her happy wiggle and favorite toy.

Her memory will be everywhere, and the boundless joy and love she gave us will forever live in our hearts. We’ll miss her immensely and grieve her loss for a long time.

But we take comfort in knowing she is running free now, playing with all the dogs that came before her, chasing tennis balls, and bounding through endless ocean waves. (And eating all the pup cups she could ever hope for!)

Rest easy, sweet Lily. 🌈🐾

Jet

“Jet, we loved our 15 years with you as a family member. You have given us endless memories with wonderful adventures, some pretty chaotic, and you were instrumental in establishing important friendships in our lives. We hope that you swim endlessy in all the doggie lakes, rivers, and oceans and finally catch all those ducks you have been chasing your whole life…you deserve it! Forever in our hearts Jetty… 💚”

Gypsy

Our girl, Gypsy

Home is where someone purrs to greet you. Gypsy made our house a home. She made us a family. The house is so quiet without her. We see her everywhere because this was her house. For one so small, she had a big personality and made her presence known. Gypsy brought out the best in us because she was simply the best. Our hearts are broken. Gypsy will always be fondly remembered as a smart, beautiful, and funny girl who lived life on her terms. She is and always will be missed.

Lily

Lily 2010 – December 1, 2025
Lily was such a sweet and kindhearted soul. Although she was very shy around other people, everyone that met her absolutely adored her. In the summer of 2020 I moved into the house where she lived and was adopted by her shortly after. It became clear that she had chosen me and after a while I took over her care from her previous human. She loved to play with her crinkle balls, batting them back to me like a pro volleyball player or chasing them across the room. She would always be inventing new games to play with all of the various toys that I would buy for her; she had me completely wrapped around her little paws and I was all the happier for it. Underneath that shy exterior was a total goofball with a lot of love to give. This summer I even managed to convince her that the harness was a good thing, and from every day onward she would be excited to go outside. She had a real taste for the outdoors (literally, she licked everything). Although our time together was relatively short I will always cherish the sweet memories and the special bond of love that we shared. She was my best buddy and my darling little Tiger Lily. I miss her terribly, but I look forward to seeing her again someday, and hearing all about the adventures that she’s had across the rainbow bridge.

Rosie

Rosie our sweet sweet hound baby. She was a protector yet a gentle girl. She loved her nap times & snuggling up as close as she could get against my back. She only liked being under blankets on her own terms. She loved licking the water off our legs after a shower. She would howl at just about anything. She loved stealing her daddy’s spot in the morning. She was so food obsessed, always mooching for more. When her nose went down to the ground, good luck getting her attention back. She was the sweetest girl. Our best friend.

Rufus

A beloved companion, remembered with endless love.

Miko

This dog has done some pretty cool trips, backpacking with me, canoe trips, paddle boarding, long trail runs, mountain hikes, met up with bears and a cougar (Not too close!!!), LOL. I don’t think she would have been much help if we were ever threatened- she wanted to run away in the opposite direction! She’d fetch sticks out of any body of water in any weather or surf size. Penchant for eating poop and other gross stuff. Loved snow. Always stood majestically at summits and look outs, hated black flies. I’d take her to work occasionally. When Ian would stay over (before she couldn’t walk up stairs anymore), she’d take herself upstairs to my (“our”) bed and lay claim to it- before we went to bed- she didn’t want to share me ;). Loved chasing “her” cats and any cat or squirrel.

Thanks for making our goodbye easy.

Tango

Writing this means he’s crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and it’s still hard to believe that he is gone. Tango is such a huge part on my son and my lives. He has grown up with my son. He was the first cat my son adopted to bring home and become part of our family. He was pure affection and love. I don’t even have the words for how much we miss you.

Millie

Millie is my soul dog, and although she is not physically with me, I feel she will always be here because there isn’t a part of my heart she hasn’t filled.

Millie has spent her whole life, from puppyhood to her senior years, by my side. She has witnessed the majority of my 20s and 30s.
Through life’s ups and downs, breakups and heartaches, Millie brought comfort and licked away any of my hurt.
Like an invisible leash attaching her to me, or maybe it was me to her. Anywhere I went, there was Millie.
She has lived abroad in Norway, spent months living out of a van, as we took a road trip through the States.
She was a social dog, quick to roll over for strangers. She was active too, no walk too long, no dog too big to play with.
Millie loved all things young, from children to puppies and even kittens.
Unlike most dachshunds, she was never food-driven. Her bowl remained full until I sat down to eat.
Millie is a beloved member of the family and was there for all holidays and big life events. She was there when my nieces were born and saw them become teenagers in high school. She shared a special bond with her grandmother, the only person Millie would be ok to spend the night with other than me.
There are no words to describe how deeply loved Millie is and how grateful I am to her.
She leaves behind only sweet or funny memories.

Jeffery

Jeffery was a sweet, kind, gentle incredibly smart little bundle of energy as a pup, always wanting to please anyone and everyone right to the very end. He loved people and loved them even more if they had a pat on the head or a treat. He is very missed by his human family and many friends.

Jesse

He was a gentle spirit with a kind soul, the sort of presence that softened the world just by being in it.

Charlie

Charlie was the most handsome boy and kept me strong through so much heartbreak. From breakups to losing loved ones he was there by my side to give me a look of love and comfort. We often communicated by longing blinks to convey the love we both know we had for so deeply for each other. I will always keep him in my heart, and will never stop talking about him. I love you my beautiful boy.

Wally

♥️ In Loving Memory of Our Sweet Wally ❤️
beloved Wally lived a wonderful 14 and a half years, full of love, adventure, and so many happy moments. Wally brought us so much joy and laughter every single day.

We’ll miss his little paws following us around, his happy tail wags to greet us at the door, laying on the kitchen floor trying to catch food crumbs and the way he always made everything feel a little brighter.

Thank you for being our best boy, Wally. You gave us your whole heart, and we’ll carry your love with us always. ❤️🐾

Dandy

Dandy was the first born of his litter on May 17 2017 and passed October 18th 2025. He truly lived up to his name, he was a handsome, goofy, loving fellow. As a clutzy gentle giant he loved to cuddle up to near everyone who sat down with him. If he wasn’t snoozing he was sniffing, his walks always consisted of letting him follow his nose. He loved frozen mango, cucumbers, carrots, peanut butter and chicken strips. He leaves behind his littermate Cru and best friend Honeybun. He joins his mum Ruby and former pals Jaida, Timmy, Mac, Candy & Monty across the rainbow bridge, where we like to believe is a giant farm where they can eat and play. Dandy was silly, lovey and our first son. He changed our lives positively forever. I’m so grateful we got to care for and love him while he was here. Thank you for being there when my partner proposed the day before you left Earth, it meant everything to me for you to be there and give my ring a good luck kiss and have your Dandy blessing.

Rest easy our darling Pisces Sun
Your parents, Pisces Moon and Pisces Rising

Max

I’d like to thank all the staff at Resting Paws, for their kind care and understanding, towards Max and our family during our very difficult time saying “Goodbye”.

Sophie

Sophie, Soapy, Sophocles Charlemagne,

Ten years wasn’t enough time, but we are endlessly grateful that we were able to give you a loving home for your golden years. We will forever miss your counter surfing, late night yowling, and most of all the cuddles on the couch in the heart of winter. I expect I will compare every cat I have the chance to meet to you for the rest of my life. You really were the perfect guy. We love you, Sophie.

Charlie

Dearest Charlie! You filled our lives with more joy than you will ever know. We loved you your entire life and we will miss you for the rest of ours! Fly free our princess 🐾

To the team at resting paws, your utmost compassion and professionalism made the most difficult decision of our lives that much more comforting. We can never put into words how appreciative we are! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and everyone who Charlie touched with her beautiful soul.

Mara

In loving memory of a loyal heart and gentle soul.

Simba

Simba, also known as “Bubby” or “The Orange Prince,” spent 17 years with his mom here on our farm. We were so happy to have our time with him, and we miss him dearly. He was lucky to grow up in his family unit, and lived such a long and healthy life.

Toby

Toby came into this world the largest of his litter, he was bold and loving. He looked up to his brother Louis and was from day one, and became an integral part of our pack. He loved to sing the song of his people, spending time with his family and grew to appreciate his human sister and all the treats she would drop for him on the floor.
He had such a wonderful sense of adventure and was fearless. Always looking for someone to snuggle with, finding anyone who needed a little bit of extra love and providing them that sense of comfort. He will be truly missed and he is in our thoughts always. Thank you Toby for being part of our family, we were so lucky to have you and we will always love you. You can rest now with your brother Louis.

Calvin

A big boy with an even bigger heart and a true gentle giant.
Sweet Calvin will be dearly missed by his devoted and caring family.
