Finnegan
With the heaviest hearts, our family had to say goodbye to our baby boy, adventure partner, and best friend. We were incredibly lucky to have him in our lives. He blessed us with a lifetime of memories. If you were fortunate enough to meet his hummingbird tail, you would know how special he was. He loved everyone equally. His personality was truly unique—sometimes more human than dog.
It’s hard to put into a few words what the last 14+ years were like. He lived a full, adventurous life. He was always an explorer—sometimes called a Houdini for the ways he’d manage to escape. Nose to the ground, he was always sniffing out the next discovery.
He toured across Canada multiple times, hiked through landscapes from Ontario forests to the grasslands and badlands of Saskatchewan, all through the Rockies, and across Vancouver Island. He was the ring bearer at our wedding. We were so lucky he was here to meet his baby brother, born this past June.
He was a connoisseur of anything cheese and loved the last bite of anyone’s croissant. He was our light after a hard day, always ready for a snuggle. His love was unconditional, and he will be deeply missed.
Delilah
In Loving Memory of Delilah
2004 – 2025
It is with full hearts and tearful eyes that we say goodbye to our beloved Delilah, who passed away peacefully after 21 incredible years of love, loyalty, and companionship.
Delilah wasn’t just a cat—she was family, a quiet constant through seasons of life, and the most precious soul one could ever hope to know. From her early kitten days to her final gentle years, she radiated warmth, affection, and a spark of life that never dimmed.
She was full of love—always. Whether it was the soft nuzzle of her head, the rhythmic comfort of her purring, or the way she instinctively knew when someone needed her presence, Delilah had a way of making the world feel calmer and more whole.
She wasn’t just our sweet companion—she was also her best friend’s shadow. Delilah was fiercely bonded to my father, rarely straying far from his side. Their quiet bond was something sacred: a daily rhythm of comfort, understanding, and pure friendship. In the best of times and the hardest of days, Delilah was there—offering comfort without needing to be asked.
She brought joy that stretched across decades, and her presence was a gift that touched everyone who knew her. Though our home feels quieter now, her spirit lives on in every memory, every photo, and every warm thought of her curled in the sun or snuggled beside someone she loved.
Thank you, Delilah, for 21 years of unconditional love. You were a blessing beyond measure.
We will miss you forever, sweet girl.
Rest well
Koda
She was an amazing family member to us. From her floppy ear to her unwavering devotion to her pack which was us humans. Koda had a personality full of love. We were so privileged to be her humans.
We cannot thank your team enough for the care you showed Koda and also to us as a family in freeing her to go play with the water hose and run again after a ball.
You are a remarkable team of caring individuals that in the hard hours of someone’s life provide comfort and peace to our fur family members. We are forever grateful for your service to Koda as she is at peace now.
Daisy
Daisy was a rescue from Alabama. She was found wandering along a road as a puppy, and as fate would have it, ended up as part of our family in Victoria. She was a wonderful dog, very loving and patient. She was also a certified escape artist who never met a fence she couldn’t sneak through. The seagull community won’t miss her, as she terrified them with loud, running charges. She could clear a field in seconds flat. Also, she was a water dog, and no trip to the beach was complete without the requisite stick throwing out into the ocean. She loved it. Her short legs propelled her at an amazing rate. She will be missed, but her dog ‘brother’ Max will be happy to see her in doggy heaven, where they can cuddle once again.
Titan
Titan
Aka: Lumps, Lou, Tighties, Tighty-whities
From the moment he came home he had a calm, almost noble presence. He blended in seamlessly to our growing and changing family. He adored cats, babies, marshmallows, and most of all naps with dad.
Even though he was terrified of the silliest things (like his bowls touching each other) he was our protector – at least until Dad got home when he would promptly take a much needed off-duty nap. He tolerated my love for hikes but always preferred a good couch cuddle with his blanky or and “upside down dance” in the yard.
We are so thankful for the life we had together and for the care and compassion he received at the end.
Thank you for being our boy, Tights
The house is too quiet without you
Trimmist
Trimmist and I found each other years ago in Montreal when he was a stray kitten showing up at my window. We got to spend 13 beautiful years together. I loved him from the moment I met him and I love him still.
Life won’t be the same without him but it’s better because of him.
Finn
I think her personality comes through: she was smart, funny, feisty and devoted to me. She loved to make me laugh or do scary/naughty things to get my attention. We all miss her beautiful spirit.
Norton
Norton came to us from PEI, a day away from euthanasia. Our daughter Anika rescued him and then flew with him across the country to his new home.
He was the sweetest cat you could ever meet. But do not get between him and chicken.
Nortie made us laugh everyday. He lived for snuggles. We miss him so terribly much.
Hank
She came out of the blue and carried me through the worst life has handed me. She was my angel and it is the greatest privilege to have been her human.
Rockie
Rockie left us on June 19th, 2025 at the age of 15.5 after 14.5 years of devoted friendship and service to our family. He was without a doubt a unique character who loved to be with us and out in the wilds around Vancouver Island. We watch them age as time goes by and we know the day will come when they are gone. It’s never easy and our love will be with him in our memory forever. Thank you Vanessa and Kate for helping to bring Rockie to God.
The first of many long dark nights
Without his paw to hold
He is nestled in the bushes of my memory
that burns in my eyes as tear well in waves
he is there waiting for me
in an enchanted forrest surrounded in luminous green waves
he is in the the breeze that soothes my grief
we walked together, we lived as one
he has left me with his love and a heart that longes for his presence
the weight, the regret, all make me numb.
Walter
Our little lion. With complex health needs and blind since birth, Walter was literally enveloped in love (from mum) and ‘calibrated risk taking’ (from dad) which collectively included innumerable family snuggles, garden explorations at Gramma and Grandpas, bubble baths (!!!), road trips to the Prairies, lazy afternoons ‘listening’ to football or ‘helping’ mum as she cooked aromatic dinners.
Your percolating purrs a.k.a ‘purrbulating’ will be sorely missed along with all the routines and rituals that made our home, well, a home. We take solace in knowing you are no longer uncomfortable, so our many tears are of relief and finitude.
Whether we rescued you, or you rescued us, will be a point of meowing debate.
Sleep well little lion. Sleep well.
Baxter
Baxter, a sweet and joyful companion who embraced the outdoors with boundless energy and brought so much happiness into my life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in my heart.
Bandit
Forever cherished and deeply missed, sweet Bandit, your memory will live on in our hearts.
Farley
Our sweet, gentle, wise, curious sir Farley. We miss your ever presence here. Find new trails, meet new friends, chase what moves, sleep in the shade. You have led the way, as you always loved to do. Until we see you again, we are never far apart. Farewell kindred friend.
Hugo
In loving memory of Hugo (a.k.a. Hugo Beans)♥️🐾
Hugo was a beautiful soul who loved adventures with his family, searching for treats, and cuddling.
He loved sitting by the ocean listening to the waves, feeling the beach sand squish between his little toes, sniffing in the soft green grass, and making friends with cats.
Hugo was there with us through big celebrations and huge losses.
He taught us what unconditional love truly feels like, how to play, and how to appreciate the little things.
For 16.5 years, I was blessed to have him as a best friend and grateful to be able to spend each day together.
He is greatly missed, but his presence is still felt in the comforts of home, in the warm sunshine, and always in our hearts.
We love you, Hugo.♥️
Roxie
To sum Roxie up in a few words is extremely hard. She was amazing on so many levels, extremely loyal, faithful, fierce but loving. If you were lucky to be loved by her, she knew how to let you know. She was goofy and made us laugh constantly; she was our southern belle. She had a huge impact on the world and will be truly missed.
Jabberwocky
Jabberwocky was a sweet, sassy girl who loved heated blankets, belly rubs, crinkle toys, and dressing up in pretty outfits. She was happiest when she was by my side and followed me everywhere she could.
Jabberwocky was my first cat, my best friend, and my soul cat. I’ll miss her so much. It’s incredibly painful knowing she’ll never crawl into my arms again, that I’ll never again pet her soft fur or feel her gentle paw on my arm.
Thank you for your love and companionship for 18 years, Jabber. You are forever in my heart. Go play in all the sunbeams, sweetest girl. I’ll leave space for you on the heated blanket.
Rajjah
Rajjah was a true friend and loving friendly cat to his family who loved him with all their hearts. He was adopted from the BC SPCA in Victoria at age 11, and lived with his family for 13 years.
He loved sitting on his favorite chair listening to the sounds of nature.on his favorite chair outside on his balcony. He loved to be serenaded to and he would happily curl up and listen to his favorite songs that were sung to him in guitar.
He is dearly missed , and forever remembered by everyone who came into his life.
He was a brave and beautiful cat that woke up each morning and waited for a hug.
We miss you our dear Rajjah

2009-2024
My little girly, my joy, my comfort, my shop steward. You always knew when someone needed your closeness, and your quiet presence eased many difficult moments. Thank you for all the snuggles… now you can rest in the lap that never needs to get up to pee.
May the long time sun shine upon you,
all love surround you,
and the pure light within you,
guide your way on.
Chewy
We will miss our beautiful little girl Chewy, you will be in our thoughts all the time.
Nugget
Nugget came to Dr. Vanessa 17 years ago as an orphaned kitten who required bottle feedings around the clock. She grew into the purrfect companion who filled our lives with so much joy and warmth 😻She was the queen of drooling while purring, a sunbathing beauty with an odd, but adorable, obsession with bananas 🍌 She will be missed dearly 💔
Rest in peace sweet Nugget. You have surely left paw prints on the hearts of so many 🐾
Begley
This guy came into our lives on December 29, 2010…we had him for almost exactly 13 years. We will miss him so much. He was the best companion and fur brother to our daughter. He was a great walking partner to his dad. He was the best coworker for myself…he was by my side all day everyday for 13 years. He was the best photoshoot dog despite being all black and hard to light..he willingly wore costumes and always knew the exact spot to sit for the ‘dog’ in any family photo. He was a 70lb lap dog but always asked to get on the couch before jumping up. He survived cancer twice and gave us 13 amazing years. We are missing him so much already. We have so many wonderful memories. We are so grateful that he was able to be at home with us for his final moments. Thank you Dr. Vanessa.
Mystic
In loving memory of our sweet and special, Mystic, who brought so much joy and love to our lives. She passed peacefully while laying on my lap (her favourite place to be). I’m so grateful that I had 18 years with her sassy little attitude. Rest peacefully my sweet Mystic.
