In Loving Memory

Honouring and remembering the pets we have helped transition across the rainbow bridge.
Please send us an email if you would like to honour your pet’s memory.

Mara

In loving memory of a loyal heart and gentle soul.

Simba

Simba, also known as “Bubby” or “The Orange Prince,” spent 17 years with his mom here on our farm. We were so happy to have our time with him, and we miss him dearly. He was lucky to grow up in his family unit, and lived such a long and healthy life.

Toby

Toby came into this world the largest of his litter, he was bold and loving. He looked up to his brother Louis and was from day one, and became an integral part of our pack. He loved to sing the song of his people, spending time with his family and grew to appreciate his human sister and all the treats she would drop for him on the floor.
He had such a wonderful sense of adventure and was fearless. Always looking for someone to snuggle with, finding anyone who needed a little bit of extra love and providing them that sense of comfort. He will be truly missed and he is in our thoughts always. Thank you Toby for being part of our family, we were so lucky to have you and we will always love you. You can rest now with your brother Louis.

Calvin

A big boy with an even bigger heart and a true gentle giant.
Sweet Calvin will be dearly missed by his devoted and caring family.

Annie

There are no words that can express how much we miss our baby girl, Annie. She has been the centre of our universe for 13 years. At just 19 years old, my husband and I drove to Qualicum Beach and there she was, the most perfect, chunky little lab. She was meant for us since day one. Annie gave us countless smiles, laughs, kisses, cuddles and love. Her favourite things were to swim for sticks in the ocean, eat (of course she’s a lab), roll around in the grass, go to work with her Dad and greet people with the strongest tail wag and happiest face holding a toy or slipper. Annie was right by our side through school, building many houses, getting a baby brother dog Gus, and welcoming her human baby sister Scarlett last year. We are so lucky to have shared this time with Annie and we wish it could have lasted forever. We will continue to celebrate our sweet girl in every way we can and cherish every moment and memory she gave us. You will live in our hearts forever.

We love you Annie.

Manny

Thank you so much for checking in. Dr. Vanessa, Ashley and the Resting Paws team exceeded our expectations and we are beyond happy about the care and support that we received from all of you. It was so heartwarming and genuine. Your care and concern speaks volumes of who you are and the people that represent your business.

Thank you for everything. It’s been a tough few days and only time will heal the pain of not having our sweet Manny around.
He was truly the best, in more ways than just a furry companion, he was a son and rock for my mom, during a time that she needed it most. He brought so much joy and life to everyone he met and never went without a day of truly living life to the fullest. He always ran like the wind and never was out of energy. He could run for miles and never stop. The outdoors was his happy place. He loved swimming at Shawnigan Lake, there were times we were worried he would never come in. He would swim in circles for so long, while having the biggest smile you could imagine. Manny will forever have a special place in all our hearts. He lived a cherished and loved life like no other. We love you sweet pal, forever and always with us xo

Thank you again for everything,
Karen, Virginia and the Furtado Family xo

Luna

We were all so very appreciative of the care you took with our Luna. While we will miss her terribly we are comforted in knowing her last days and moments were spent with her favourite people and in familiar places doing what she loved. Luna was completely at ease and we are grateful she was peaceful and free of pain.

We were able to get to beach with Luna and ensure our family had time to say our goodbyes.
Our funny girl never actually swam but waded.

Luna went everywhere with us and we will remember our many camping and road trips with her. She even got used to elevators and lounging at hotels.

Even though she was a west coast pup, she appreciated the winter warmth of Phoenix,AZ. So much so that we needed to call her into the shade.

When she was younger, she did not have an off switch when playing with her dog pals. She particularly loved frenchies.

Luna loved postal workers (well pretty much anyone who came to the door wearing a yellow vest) because she knew there might be a treat in the offering.

She had surgical precision with squeakers in toys and was able to remove them handily. She recently met her match with a larger yellow spiked ball.

Luna was sensitive to her human companions’ health and emotions and ensured they got out for their morning and afternoon walks.

We will remember her with love and gratitude for being our companion.

Lucy

Lucy was sweet, sassy, and chatty — always herself, always making us laugh. she always had her own opinions about everything — and she made sure we knew it. Life with Lucy was never dull. She was eager to learn every trick except walking on a leash. All she really wanted was to be off-leash outside, lounging on the deck, living life on her own terms since day one. You had your dog door, your fenced backyard, and your beloved deck where you could bask in the sun, doing whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. Lucy also enjoyed leading us on hikes, digging at the beach or curling up for bedtime at 9 o’clock sharp.

When we moved to B.C. hiking became our passion, being off leash in the mountains she discovered freedom in its purest form. From that point on, she became an adventure dog — fearless on the trails, always leading the way, and bringing us back to the car like it was her mission. She had a great sense of direction and knew her way home. She joined us on 15 flights, road trips across Canada, and even an all-inclusive trip to Mexico. She wasn’t thrilled about car rides (especially early mornings), but the moment we hit the trail, she was unstoppable.

Watching her get sick so fast was heartbreaking. After nine years of independence, she suddenly wanted to cuddle. We cherished these moments but deep down she was telling us goodbye. We had an incredibly peaceful last day together, and thanks to Resting Paws, she left us gently, at home, surrounded by love.

Thank you for being you Lucy. We loved your big personality and how you always shared your thoughts. You have always been unique, so loving and funny, and always in charge. We miss you deeply and hope you’re running free, being a pack leader, soaking up the sun, and reunited with Browning, doing things your way! We love you Lucy!

Ellie

Her memory will remain in our hearts furrever.

Sadie

We were so blessed that our sweet Sadie chose us to be her family. She was a sensitive soul who brought calm to everyone in her orbit. Always up for an adventure, she loved meeting new people on her walks and was happy to cuddle for as long as you needed. Smart and sassy, with an undeniable addiction to all things potato, she kept us laughing and loved harder than we could have imagined. She was our booping queen, never shy about asking for a good ear or butt scratch. Our hearts are broken, and the house feels so empty without her. Walking through the door will never be the same without her greeting us with her “baby” in her mouth. Your strands of love will always linger, and your absence will always be felt. We love you forever Sadie Bum.

Copper

“Copper was known by many as a staple downtown from when he used to help his previous owner panhandle. He would strut around downtown like he owned the place, always confident and keen to protect his owner.

He came to live with us for his senior years, where he got to pick his favorite spot on the couch, travel around Western Canada and have his fair share of favorite snacks. He was sweet and gentle when he was home with his humans with a touch of separation anxiety. Thank you for protecting me everywhere I went, even though you were less than 15 lbs (we will miss your big dog attitude). I owe you so much gratitude for getting me through one of the most challenging years of my life and I hope that you have found Benny wherever you are. Thank you for helping raise Walter, Mom and Dad will love and miss you forever. “

Pica

Rest in peace dear friend your spirit will always be treasured and your legacy will be held close in the hearts of your loving family.

Milah

“Milah wasn’t always the goodest girl – but we loved her and she loved us. She was with us when we brought our babies home and she took her role of dog sister very seriously. She was always right beside her kids for outdoor adventures. She loved a good run in a field and a walk in the woods. And she surprised us in her later years by loving her new cat brothers.

Thanks for 16 years of laughs and love Milah girl. Our house feels empty without you.”

Missy

“Missy spent 17 love filled years with my family and her bright curious nature filled every room she was in. She saw me through my teenage years and young adulthood, loving me unconditionally through every uncomfortable period of growth. I hope her peaceful end of life leads to a peaceful afterlife, and she has my love always.”

Little One

Goodbye my love, you will forever be stamped on my heart till my last breath. You’ve been my Bestie, my side kick and my protector for the past 15yrs and I couldn’t imagine getting through the ups and downs without your unconditional love and support. Thank you for loving me when I didn’t love myself. Till we meet again.

Milo

Milo was my sweet boy who came to me as a puppy when I semi-retired and had more time on my hands to love and cherish him. He became my constant companion who loved to chase his ball, walk with his Momma and friends, camp every summer for weeks at a time, swim with me, and especially float with me on an inflatable on the lake. He was my little buddy who didn’t have a mean bone in his body and loved to lick my feet and give kisses freely to even those who didn’t want them. I am so grateful that I got to be his Momma for nearly eleven years. Gone too soon, but so peacefully at home when he was having a good day. I will miss you forever, my best friend Milo.

Steve-O

Steve-O ❤️
Our beautiful boy.
You brought so much joy for 13 years.
A personality larger than life who commanded the room.
He definitely lived up to his name! Lol.
We miss your Zoomies and trying to hide your new favourite toy.
Even towards the end, you persevered enjoying short strolls around the park and still letting people know “I’m here !“
Reunited again with your pack Mandy and Marley. ❤️
Forever loved and dearly missed.

Ray

Ray was adopted in 2012 and true to his orange cat nature he was extremely social and friendly. Ray loved people and he would easily charm anyone who met him. He spent his younger years playing, adventuring on camping trips and enjoying life as a boat cat, where he loved to watch the birds and other wildlife. As he got older, his priorities shifted and he was happy spending his days lounging on the couch and awaiting his next meal. Ray enjoyed morning snuggles and he would always make sure visitors paid their dues by giving him plenty of pets. Earlier this year Ray welcomed a younger sister into his life and during his last few months he enjoyed chasing her around the house and sharing his wisdom about how to win humans over. Ray will always be in our hearts forever.

Moko

Moko was the best dog, his favorite thing was being with us. He loved cuddling, sunshine, duck treats, and was totally devoted to his people. He made us smile every day. Moko was loved by everyone who met him and was truly a gift to us for 15 wonderful years. We will love and miss him forever.

Sophia

In loving memory of our Princess Sophia! Oct 14, 2010 to Oct 16, 2024. She touched so many people in her 14 years and was so loved! Sophia loved to bask in the sun and would go anywhere inside or outside to find it. She enjoyed playing fetch and sitting up for treats and chasing the birds and squirrel out of her yard. Even when we brought her home a cat brother (Lucy) she welcomed him and love him.

I cannot thank Dr. Vanessa and Heather enough for guiding me through this difficult time. Their compassion and kindness put me at ease and took the stress out of a very difficult situation. Thank you!

Nugget

Nugget came to Dr. Vanessa 17 years ago as an orphaned kitten who required bottle feedings around the clock. She grew into the purrfect companion who filled our lives with so much joy and warmth 😻She was the queen of drooling while purring, a sunbathing beauty with an odd, but adorable, obsession with bananas 🍌 She will be missed dearly 💔

Rest in peace sweet Nugget. You have surely left paw prints on the hearts of so many 🐾

Begley

This guy came into our lives on December 29, 2010…we had him for almost exactly 13 years.  We will miss him so much.  He was the best companion and fur brother to our daughter.  He was a great walking partner to his dad.  He was the best coworker for myself…he was by my side all day everyday for 13 years.  He was the best photoshoot dog despite being all black and hard to light..he willingly wore costumes and always knew the exact spot to sit for the ‘dog’ in any family photo.  He was a 70lb lap dog but always asked to get on the couch before jumping up.  He survived cancer twice and gave us 13 amazing years.  We are missing him so much already.  We have so many wonderful memories.  We are so grateful that he was able to be at home with us for his final moments. Thank you Dr. Vanessa.

Mystic

In loving memory of our sweet and special, Mystic, who brought so much joy and love to our lives. She passed peacefully while laying on my lap (her favourite place to be). I’m so grateful that I had 18 years with her sassy little attitude. Rest peacefully my sweet Mystic.
