Gypsy
Our girl, Gypsy
Home is where someone purrs to greet you. Gypsy made our house a home. She made us a family. The house is so quiet without her. We see her everywhere because this was her house. For one so small, she had a big personality and made her presence known. Gypsy brought out the best in us because she was simply the best. Our hearts are broken. Gypsy will always be fondly remembered as a smart, beautiful, and funny girl who lived life on her terms. She is and always will be missed.

Lily
Lily 2010 – December 1, 2025
Lily was such a sweet and kindhearted soul. Although she was very shy around other people, everyone that met her absolutely adored her. In the summer of 2020 I moved into the house where she lived and was adopted by her shortly after. It became clear that she had chosen me and after a while I took over her care from her previous human. She loved to play with her crinkle balls, batting them back to me like a pro volleyball player or chasing them across the room. She would always be inventing new games to play with all of the various toys that I would buy for her; she had me completely wrapped around her little paws and I was all the happier for it. Underneath that shy exterior was a total goofball with a lot of love to give. This summer I even managed to convince her that the harness was a good thing, and from every day onward she would be excited to go outside. She had a real taste for the outdoors (literally, she licked everything). Although our time together was relatively short I will always cherish the sweet memories and the special bond of love that we shared. She was my best buddy and my darling little Tiger Lily. I miss her terribly, but I look forward to seeing her again someday, and hearing all about the adventures that she’s had across the rainbow bridge.
Rosie
Rosie our sweet sweet hound baby. She was a protector yet a gentle girl. She loved her nap times & snuggling up as close as she could get against my back. She only liked being under blankets on her own terms. She loved licking the water off our legs after a shower. She would howl at just about anything. She loved stealing her daddy’s spot in the morning. She was so food obsessed, always mooching for more. When her nose went down to the ground, good luck getting her attention back. She was the sweetest girl. Our best friend.
Rufus
A beloved companion, remembered with endless love.
Miko
This dog has done some pretty cool trips, backpacking with me, canoe trips, paddle boarding, long trail runs, mountain hikes, met up with bears and a cougar (Not too close!!!), LOL. I don’t think she would have been much help if we were ever threatened- she wanted to run away in the opposite direction! She’d fetch sticks out of any body of water in any weather or surf size. Penchant for eating poop and other gross stuff. Loved snow. Always stood majestically at summits and look outs, hated black flies. I’d take her to work occasionally. When Ian would stay over (before she couldn’t walk up stairs anymore), she’d take herself upstairs to my (“our”) bed and lay claim to it- before we went to bed- she didn’t want to share me ;). Loved chasing “her” cats and any cat or squirrel.
Thanks for making our goodbye easy.
Tango
Writing this means he’s crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and it’s still hard to believe that he is gone. Tango is such a huge part on my son and my lives. He has grown up with my son. He was the first cat my son adopted to bring home and become part of our family. He was pure affection and love. I don’t even have the words for how much we miss you.
Millie
Millie is my soul dog, and although she is not physically with me, I feel she will always be here because there isn’t a part of my heart she hasn’t filled.
Millie has spent her whole life, from puppyhood to her senior years, by my side. She has witnessed the majority of my 20s and 30s.
Through life’s ups and downs, breakups and heartaches, Millie brought comfort and licked away any of my hurt.
Like an invisible leash attaching her to me, or maybe it was me to her. Anywhere I went, there was Millie.
She has lived abroad in Norway, spent months living out of a van, as we took a road trip through the States.
She was a social dog, quick to roll over for strangers. She was active too, no walk too long, no dog too big to play with.
Millie loved all things young, from children to puppies and even kittens.
Unlike most dachshunds, she was never food-driven. Her bowl remained full until I sat down to eat.
Millie is a beloved member of the family and was there for all holidays and big life events. She was there when my nieces were born and saw them become teenagers in high school. She shared a special bond with her grandmother, the only person Millie would be ok to spend the night with other than me.
There are no words to describe how deeply loved Millie is and how grateful I am to her.
She leaves behind only sweet or funny memories.
Jeffery
Jeffery was a sweet, kind, gentle incredibly smart little bundle of energy as a pup, always wanting to please anyone and everyone right to the very end. He loved people and loved them even more if they had a pat on the head or a treat. He is very missed by his human family and many friends.
Jesse
He was a gentle spirit with a kind soul, the sort of presence that softened the world just by being in it.
Suzy
Remembering a faithful friend who brought comfort, warmth, and love to all.
Copper
“Copper was known by many as a staple downtown from when he used to help his previous owner panhandle. He would strut around downtown like he owned the place, always confident and keen to protect his owner.
He came to live with us for his senior years, where he got to pick his favorite spot on the couch, travel around Western Canada and have his fair share of favorite snacks. He was sweet and gentle when he was home with his humans with a touch of separation anxiety. Thank you for protecting me everywhere I went, even though you were less than 15 lbs (we will miss your big dog attitude). I owe you so much gratitude for getting me through one of the most challenging years of my life and I hope that you have found Benny wherever you are. Thank you for helping raise Walter, Mom and Dad will love and miss you forever. “
Pica
Rest in peace dear friend your spirit will always be treasured and your legacy will be held close in the hearts of your loving family.
Milah
“Milah wasn’t always the goodest girl – but we loved her and she loved us. She was with us when we brought our babies home and she took her role of dog sister very seriously. She was always right beside her kids for outdoor adventures. She loved a good run in a field and a walk in the woods. And she surprised us in her later years by loving her new cat brothers.
Thanks for 16 years of laughs and love Milah girl. Our house feels empty without you.”
Missy
“Missy spent 17 love filled years with my family and her bright curious nature filled every room she was in. She saw me through my teenage years and young adulthood, loving me unconditionally through every uncomfortable period of growth. I hope her peaceful end of life leads to a peaceful afterlife, and she has my love always.”
Little One
Goodbye my love, you will forever be stamped on my heart till my last breath. You’ve been my Bestie, my side kick and my protector for the past 15yrs and I couldn’t imagine getting through the ups and downs without your unconditional love and support. Thank you for loving me when I didn’t love myself. Till we meet again.
Milo
Milo was my sweet boy who came to me as a puppy when I semi-retired and had more time on my hands to love and cherish him. He became my constant companion who loved to chase his ball, walk with his Momma and friends, camp every summer for weeks at a time, swim with me, and especially float with me on an inflatable on the lake. He was my little buddy who didn’t have a mean bone in his body and loved to lick my feet and give kisses freely to even those who didn’t want them. I am so grateful that I got to be his Momma for nearly eleven years. Gone too soon, but so peacefully at home when he was having a good day. I will miss you forever, my best friend Milo.
Steve-O
Steve-O ❤️
Our beautiful boy.
You brought so much joy for 13 years.
A personality larger than life who commanded the room.
He definitely lived up to his name! Lol.
We miss your Zoomies and trying to hide your new favourite toy.
Even towards the end, you persevered enjoying short strolls around the park and still letting people know “I’m here !“
Reunited again with your pack Mandy and Marley. ❤️
Forever loved and dearly missed.
Ray
Ray was adopted in 2012 and true to his orange cat nature he was extremely social and friendly. Ray loved people and he would easily charm anyone who met him. He spent his younger years playing, adventuring on camping trips and enjoying life as a boat cat, where he loved to watch the birds and other wildlife. As he got older, his priorities shifted and he was happy spending his days lounging on the couch and awaiting his next meal. Ray enjoyed morning snuggles and he would always make sure visitors paid their dues by giving him plenty of pets. Earlier this year Ray welcomed a younger sister into his life and during his last few months he enjoyed chasing her around the house and sharing his wisdom about how to win humans over. Ray will always be in our hearts forever.
Moko
Moko was the best dog, his favorite thing was being with us. He loved cuddling, sunshine, duck treats, and was totally devoted to his people. He made us smile every day. Moko was loved by everyone who met him and was truly a gift to us for 15 wonderful years. We will love and miss him forever.
Sophia
In loving memory of our Princess Sophia! Oct 14, 2010 to Oct 16, 2024. She touched so many people in her 14 years and was so loved! Sophia loved to bask in the sun and would go anywhere inside or outside to find it. She enjoyed playing fetch and sitting up for treats and chasing the birds and squirrel out of her yard. Even when we brought her home a cat brother (Lucy) she welcomed him and love him.
I cannot thank Dr. Vanessa and Heather enough for guiding me through this difficult time. Their compassion and kindness put me at ease and took the stress out of a very difficult situation. Thank you!
Nugget
Nugget came to Dr. Vanessa 17 years ago as an orphaned kitten who required bottle feedings around the clock. She grew into the purrfect companion who filled our lives with so much joy and warmth 😻She was the queen of drooling while purring, a sunbathing beauty with an odd, but adorable, obsession with bananas 🍌 She will be missed dearly 💔
Rest in peace sweet Nugget. You have surely left paw prints on the hearts of so many 🐾
Begley
This guy came into our lives on December 29, 2010…we had him for almost exactly 13 years. We will miss him so much. He was the best companion and fur brother to our daughter. He was a great walking partner to his dad. He was the best coworker for myself…he was by my side all day everyday for 13 years. He was the best photoshoot dog despite being all black and hard to light..he willingly wore costumes and always knew the exact spot to sit for the ‘dog’ in any family photo. He was a 70lb lap dog but always asked to get on the couch before jumping up. He survived cancer twice and gave us 13 amazing years. We are missing him so much already. We have so many wonderful memories. We are so grateful that he was able to be at home with us for his final moments. Thank you Dr. Vanessa.
Mystic
In loving memory of our sweet and special, Mystic, who brought so much joy and love to our lives. She passed peacefully while laying on my lap (her favourite place to be). I’m so grateful that I had 18 years with her sassy little attitude. Rest peacefully my sweet Mystic.
