Pet Memorials

In Loving Memory

Honouring and remembering the pets we have helped transition across the rainbow bridge.
Please send us an email if you would like to honour your pet’s memory.

Kook

For Kook, he had a funny little crooked tail but his heart was true. He was always game for pets and affection, he could never get enough!
I will miss the way he’d paw at me to say “don’t stop!”
He will be dearly missed and the memory of his antics will forever live on in our hearts.

Miles

Miles’ family will remember their beloved companion through seasons and sunsets, beaches and sofas:
In October we took him camping and we were so surprised he dug this hole at cannon beach
He Loved green beans from the garden
We watched the sunset together in Tofino and he really loved a couch by a window
Once again thanks so much
You are right we are definitely sad and the house feels empty
It will take some time but folks like yourselves really help.

Rosie

In loving memory of Rosie, our beloved 18 year old cat…affectionately known as “Rosie O’Doodle”, “The Tiny Ball”, or “SpicyFairy”.
Rosie came into our lives in 2007, an abandoned kitten, only four weeks old. She had the will to survive and we were determined to help her have the life she deserved. Rosie embodied a blend of sweetness and spice – a real survivor who was dearly loved. Always the first to greet us at the door with her unmistakable presence and boundless affection. Her life was a testament to resilience and we are forever grateful to have shared her remarkable journey. Our hearts ache with her absence, yet our many happy memories bring comfort.
Rosie, you were one of a kind. Rest in peace dear girl! You will always remain in our hearts.

Cienna

June 13, 2013 to March 11, 2025

Cienna, our beautiful 12-year-old Irish Setter/Golden Retriever girl, crossed the rainbow bridge today. 🐾 March 11, 2025 marks the day our hearts broke, but also the day we celebrate the incredible life she lived, with her beautiful golden and red coat.

“It’s been a long day without you, my friend.” And indeed it has. “Who knew all the planes we flew, good things we’ve been through, that I’d be standing right here talking to you about another path.” Cienna, your gentle, loyal spirit guided us down a path of pure love and unwavering loyalty. You were our comfort, our joy, and our furry best friend. You taught us to appreciate the simple moments, to find happiness in every day, and to love without reservation.

The silence in our home is deafening, but the echoes of your happy barks and gentle snores will forever fill our memories. We’re so grateful for the 12 years of love and laughter you gave us. We’ll miss you dearly, sweet girl. “How could we not talk about family when family’s all that we got?” Cienna, always and forever. ❤️

Lucky

He came to me from a far off land as a rescue when he was 3. He was the best dog ever. Made friends with dogs and people everywhere he went. I didn’t get enough time with you but you will be in my heart forever. Lucky saved me when I needed it most.
Love you forever Lucky ❤️🐾

Mr Coco

As I sift through the memories, both on my hard drive and in my heart, I realize how difficult it can be to write something that encompasses all that our Mr Coco and the 12 years, 1 month and 2 days we got to share with him, truly means.
It’s taken me a whole month, in fact.
Mr Coco came into our lives as a smelly, ragged, little 3 year old medical foster who’d just had his left eye removed. Our mission, which we chose to accept, was to help him heal until he was ready to be adopted. But it soon became quite clear that he fit — in our life, in our home, with our other dog, even on my chest as I lay on the couch with the flu – so we adopted this magical little gremlin who we then got to watch grow and settle into a confident little man who allowed us to adore him and shower him with all our love… and the odd tater tot.
His origin story was heartbreaking but with the help of our dog-centric family and friends, he learned about love, trust, and 8sies (8pm treat time!), about regular walkies, sniffaris, runs on the beach and meeting horses. He loved trundling along, exploring in his own little world, sunning himself on the grass and then chilling in the “Coco Cabana”, laying on the driveway before dinner watching people and their dogs walk by, going unnoticed himself. He blended into his surroundings, and our life, seamlessly. His bursts of playfulness, were short, but oh, so sweet. He was eternally patient, though had the most polite little gentle squeak when he wanted something.

He lived life on his own terms, and we did our best to follow his lead.

Mr Coco was also a part of the Resting Paws family, being my support as I helped other families as they navigated the same heartbreaking decision, we had to make. And though my work didn’t make it any easier to make that call to Dr Vanessa, when it was time, I am eternally grateful we were able to say goodbye to our best friend at home, while he fell asleep on my chest… one last time.

Rest in peace and love little WonderBubbins – we will miss you more than you’ll ever know. xo

“Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.” ~W.R. Purche

Taters

Taters was a very gentle and loving dog who absolutely loved children.
She enjoyed camping and running along the beach.
She was a wonderful traveller and travelled all across Canada, through Alaska and most of the United States in our FifthWheel with us.
Taters filled our lives with love and joy for 16 years and she will always have a place in our hearts.
Love to you Taters.

Bijou

Bijou was the best of kitties. She had such a big personality and a huge purr for such a little kitty. When I went to adopt a cat she picked me by jumping up on the chair and sitting down beside me with her big purr as soon as I got in the room. She was skeptical of my husband when we first met, but quickly pegged him as a complete suck who would always give her more treats. She is deeply missed.

Poem For My Friend (author unknown)

Is it possible that it is grief that brought us together
Yes it is
It is possible
Dear friend, we sat on the sun-soaked fields
But I would have a strawberry with you anywhere
Or when they said of Julius Caesar: that his life was gentle
Dear friend, I would paint your eyes anywhere
The elements so mixed up in me
That Nature might stand up and say: Now this is a [cat]!
And when they burn me up into the trees
I hope you are the trees
The set of neat green things
Come waiting for me
I hope you are the bushes
I hope you are neat green bushes
There waiting for me

Jack

Jack’s family shares a few words and some sweet photos of their beloved: “thanks, so long, and may we meet again”

Mr. Bean

Goodbye Dear Mr Bean (aka Beanie, Beanbag, Lima Bean),
You were a force of nature we so enjoyed sharing our lives with for the past 14 years. King of the neighborhood racoons outside, king of the canines inside, a legendary hunter of mice and rats, you were the smartest and savviest cat ever, and super sweet to boot: loving to your family, calm and tolerant with children, super sociable with visitors.
You had a great life, but at almost 21, you were ready for a rest.
May you get endless head scratches, tuna and things to keep you busy in heaven. We will miss you dearly. Rest in peace. ❤️❤️

Luna

” My Beautiful Luna. You are swimming in the ocean, you are running through the forest, you’re chasing the birds of course.
Your love for me will never leave me, and mine will never leave you. I’ll meet you at the beach when next we meet. Goodbye for now.”

Dorie

We’d love to remember her as a cat who loved her human’s laps, and enjoyed every sunbeam she could find.
You helped make her passing comfortable and we will never forget your compassion!

Lennon

Always remembered and loved!

Maverick

Having to say goodbye to you Maverick was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do.
You were the absolute best boy, your pure heart, unwavering love, and happy demeanour will be greatly missed. You were one of a kind and we are so fortunate for the time we had with you. We will love and cherish you forever.
Thank you to Dr. Vanessa and her team for the best way to say the hardest goodbye.

Humphrey

AKA Humph, Meat Man, Pee paws, Meatball, and Grumpy old man 😍

He was a fiercely independent grumpy old man who would lead you on the walk wherever he wanted to go, which was to the best pee spots and whichever nearest store had treats. Humphreys favourite activities were to lay in the sun, eat chicken and all the treats, and pee on the highest points he could find and we gave him ample opportunity to pee on the top of many mountains, beaches, logs, rocks, and gardens. He was strong and brave right to the end and life will never be the same without him in it.

Kimbo

In honour of Kimbo, amazing and inspiring dog, our best friend. We can only say thank you for every single second you fulfilled our souls. Thank you Kimbo for all your love, your energy, your pure eyes, thank your for changing our lives. We will love you forever and you will be with us in our hearts. You were the best friend ever!

Lily

She was the sweetest being in the world. She had a good life and I know she made mine better. I love her with my heart forever.

Kaira

In loving memory of our precious Kaira. We had her for almost 23 years. She will be missed dearly. She brought so much joy and unconditional love into our lives. Rest In Peace beautiful angel.

Nugget

Nugget came to Dr. Vanessa 17 years ago as an orphaned kitten who required bottle feedings around the clock. She grew into the purrfect companion who filled our lives with so much joy and warmth 😻She was the queen of drooling while purring, a sunbathing beauty with an odd, but adorable, obsession with bananas 🍌 She will be missed dearly 💔

Rest in peace sweet Nugget. You have surely left paw prints on the hearts of so many 🐾

Begley

This guy came into our lives on December 29, 2010…we had him for almost exactly 13 years.  We will miss him so much.  He was the best companion and fur brother to our daughter.  He was a great walking partner to his dad.  He was the best coworker for myself…he was by my side all day everyday for 13 years.  He was the best photoshoot dog despite being all black and hard to light..he willingly wore costumes and always knew the exact spot to sit for the ‘dog’ in any family photo.  He was a 70lb lap dog but always asked to get on the couch before jumping up.  He survived cancer twice and gave us 13 amazing years.  We are missing him so much already.  We have so many wonderful memories.  We are so grateful that he was able to be at home with us for his final moments. Thank you Dr. Vanessa.

Mystic

In loving memory of our sweet and special, Mystic, who brought so much joy and love to our lives. She passed peacefully while laying on my lap (her favourite place to be). I’m so grateful that I had 18 years with her sassy little attitude. Rest peacefully my sweet Mystic.
